The communications intern is responsible for a variety of projects within the areas of public relations, written communications, print advertising, and social media. The appropriate applicant will also receive a broad range of experience with all East Central/Select Sires programs and services.
Duties may include, but are not limited to the following. The intern is responsible for interviewing customers and writing feature articles for the company newsletter -- as well as writing general news releases and customer testimonials. In addition, the intern will
represent East Central/Select Sires at numerous functions throughout the summer including dairy shows, county fairs, and producer activities. Other duties include taking photographs, developing and designing brochures and various types of ads, and assisting with social-media programs.
Besides having an understanding of the dairy and beef industries, a successful candidate should be proficient in both written and oral communication, have experience with Microsoft Office programs, and have at least some training in InDesign and Photoshop. Additional training will be provided in all areas.
This internship is based in the Waupun, Wis., office.
